There is not much to say about this supposed horror/comedy flick. The novel-based film is a great kids' movie that combines childish fear and humor. Although exaggerated and overacted, the costumes of the film are colorful and exiting.
One of the most unique things about SleepyHollow is that it is one of the few of the latest movies without major special effects. This aspect makes the film rather enjoyable, yet to a point. The basic plot involves an end-of-18th century detective who is sent to a town called Sleepy Hollow to prove his skills in solving mysteries by discovering the identity of the city's murderer. Once there, the detective discovers that not everything is black and white and that for every and there is a but. The story leads to an unsuspecting conclusion, which I predicted 15 minutes ahead of time.
I described this movie to an associate of mine as Something you watch while the good show is in commercial, and I think that the comment is very appropriate. This is not a film that you should see if you are deciding between this and another one, Feel free to go and see Deuce the Gigolo instead!
