Even
with a complete lack of common sense critical knowledge,
one right away spots a comedic success. "Road Trip" is
one of those so easy to spot as a "thumbs up", that even
if you were in a coma, you would laugh. Surrounding a
group of four friends who go on a road trip to retrieve
a videotape of one of the guy's. The tape was sent to
his girlfriend, who is across the country in Austin, Texas,
while he is in New England in Ithaca University. Originally,
the tape to be sent was of a loving message, but unfortunately
it was switched for a porno tape, which the guy made with
one very hot chick.
If you see Tom Green in the casting list, you know that
you are going to leave the theater with stomach aches
from extreme laughing - sure is true. Picking up a large
portion of the "American Pie" audience, the film is one
hilarious situation after another. As the guys travel
together, they learn from each other and help each other
deal with personal issues and problems.
An additional bonus regarding the film is the following.
Many students are graduating high school this year and
are not sure about college and the whole experience. "Road
Trip" portrays the higher learning experience as one of
hard learning, while heavy partying. If consuming all
of the knowledge you want simply from the picture, you'd
assume it's a weekend orgy and will be first one your
way to the place of your choice.
Being narrated by Tom Green, who flashes back one year
to tell the story to a visiting group of potential students,
the film of course has portions of itself as being told
from inside of a guy's head. During a women's locker room
scene, Barry (Tom Green) pictures it as a group of topless
women standing around helping one of them out with a problem
she has. Over all the film was great at deserves the Global
Zona A+ rating. One thing though: keep the parents at
home with your younger siblings and go see the movie,
teens!
