Called the scariest sci-fi film of the year, "Pitch Black"
does fit the shoes. With an unpredictable plot, the movie
keeps your toe on edge and your pants wet.
The plot involves a group of crash-landers on a strange,
three-sunned planet. Besides the problem of a killer convict,
the individuals face deadly alien creatures. Everything
is fine, as along as you stay in daylight - no problem on
a planet where there are three suns. Only one problem: every
twenty-two years a lasting eclipse takes place and evil
comes to the surface - are you afraid of the dark?
When I came out of the theater I had a mixed felling about
the movie: it was at the same time bad and good. In the
end the positive aspects of the film, such as the main character
and specials effects
took over the negative features of the story line. This
film probably appeals more to the sci-fi lovers, but does
have grasping aspects, which will hook average moviegoers
as well.
Some of the surprises in the movie have to do with a secret,
a death, and a special gift. Overall, now you should have
enough information about "Pitch Black" to whether be psyched
or disgusted by it. One thing to remember is that all reviews
are made from the critic's perspective and your ideas might
not match the writers'. So decide everything for yourself
and don't blame me if you are a good movie or throw away
five bucks.
