Continuing
the legendary success of the devilish films of the past,
including "End of Days", "Stigmata", and "Devil's Advocate",
"The Ninth Gate" takes a new turn regarding Lucifer, the
Dark Angel. This time around, three books contain the information
regarding the resurrection of the devil. A book detective
(Johnny Depp) is sent on a quest to discover the difference
between the three last copies of the "Ninth Gate".
While still dealing with some of the same information known
about the devil, new information is revealed along the plot
line. The director of the movie made his creation very tantalizing,
keeping the events one step ahead of the audience. This
keeps making you keep watching the film without a single
time of wanting to leave, like some movies.
A string of unexplained phenomenon follows the main character,
along with a mysterious young lady. Saving him at every
life-threatening turn, she acts as his guardian angel. Several
hints given by the lady lead to clues, which help Depp reach
the undisclosed ninth gate.
