Sequels always have a tough time keeping up - not to mention beating - the original production; while many try, few succeed. Just to match, a second installment has to be bigger and better in every way possible, and "Mission: Impossible 2" (M:I-2) does it all.

Picking up from the first film, "M:I-2" takes a different turn in it's structure. The film sways from more of a serious manner of the first film, to more of a romanticized James Bond feeling in the second. Dealing with the search for the knowledge and location of a deadly virus and its antidote, the film leads the character of Tom Cruise all over Australia. Caught between public and private duty, the secret agent is forced to choose between love and obligation.

Blasted with a number of gadgets, the spy world of "M:I-2" proves to be a never - ending road of unpredictable events. The face - altering masks were used thoroughly, making it exciting to see unexpected characters appear when they did. The only unfortunate aspect of that was that by the conclusion of the film, the mark thing got predictable, especially during the most important part of the film.

One thing of course that I must do is give it up to Tom Cruise for all of the stunts he did. While of course with a safety cable, he did skip across mountains like he was born for it. The man has guts, and that is what makes the film so great. "M:I-2" deserves an A- grade, only due to predictability.
