Review
Do you like fast cars, women,
and movies; than "Gone in 60 Seconds" in the flick of
a lifetime for you. Dealing with a retired thief (Cage)
who is required to come back into the business to help
his brother out of a jam, by stealing fifty cars in one
night. He gathers a crew of former and present car thieves,
each with his/her own talent. Constantly pursued by a
cop and an enemy, Memphis has to steer though the somewhat
useless plot for almost two hours.
A plot is completely visible in "Gone in 60 Seconds",
however, at times it seemed as if it was stuffed with
irrelevant events and pointless scenes. The film's greatest
aspect was the abundant amount of cars, which covered
the footage. Starting from you basic 1950's hotrods and
up to Lamborghini Diablo, the film had it all on four
wheels. But, on the contrary, there was no deep meaning
or dramatic style. While some scenes were heart - stopping,
it was more the action, than the emotion.
"A good action film to start off the summer" would be
a suitable definition for the Dominic Sena production.
Some excellent tricks and flicks of the wrist by the car
- thief masters sure puts a twinkle in your eye and you
begin to cheer for the bad guy. But then you think about
it and then see how the bad guy is actually not so bad
and going a good deed.
