Galaxy
Quest
by
Artem Kholodenko
One
of the most light - hearted and entertaining movies
of the year is definitely "Galaxy Quest". Thanks to
the lack of audience - noticeable flaws, the film creates
a pleasant atmosphere around it.
The plot of the picture involves a cast of a formerly
successful space show, which resembles our own "Star
trek". The characters are called upon for help by real
- life alien, who have been receiving their show's broadcast
signal and have based their way of life on it. The race
created a realistic replica of the TV show's spaceships,
due to which the characters were able to fly it. In
the end the day is of course saved and everyone ends
up happy.
The best thing about "Galaxy Quest" is that there are
no boring parts - it's all fun. The simple, yet not
stupid humor keeps you on your toes, to be ready for
the next h-he and ha-ha. Tim Allen and Sigourney Weaver
do a great job acting out their semi - comedic roles.
Although not an Oscar contender, the film does have
potential to win other, less formal awards, such as
MTV or People's Choice.
I completely enjoyed the film and would recommend it
to anyone who is interested in getting his or her money's
worth out of the theater experience.
