Review
"Pay
Back"...oh, I'm sorry, "Get Carter", is
a film of one man beating all of the odds and coming out
on top. While hopefully not Stallone's last film, "Get
Carter" is a type of "Pay Back" and "Get
Shorty" type of a movie.
After
coming back to a world he left behind, Jack Carter [Stallone]
tries to uncover what seems to him as a set up for his
brother's murder. Meeting new and running into old friends,
Jack runs in circles between five other characters [brother's
business partner, brother's lady of the night, cyber sex
ring leader, and a Bill Gates type of a billionaire].
During this time, his boss from Las Vegas keeps bugging
him about Jack's love interest who is also the boss's
wife/girlfriend.
While
an overall interesting story that leads to a surprising,
yet not shocking conclusion, "Get Carter" does
have the audience looking at their watch during some or
other point of the film. It took the film a good 60% of
its running time to heat up to a point of complete interest.
However, if you are a big Stallone fan, you will totally
enjoy the production and the image the character of Jack
Carter conveys to the audience.
