X-MEN
Synopsis
Big
screen adaptation of the popular Marvel comic series about
a group of outcasts, each with special powers derived
from a different genetic mutation. Rejected by the very
people they seek to protect from evil, the X-Men are reluctantly
forced to defend themselves from the intolerant human
race.
Review
"An Introduction"
is a good way to describe the Marvel attempt to transfer
comics on to the silver screen. Being a comic book, you
can't expect all of the glamour and color of pain and
hand to be transferred into real-life situations. So of
course the film was not 100% of what the comic book was.
However, that was not the main flaw that was observed.
The film describes the origin of a number of the mutants,
for the exception of Wolverine, who's past is known. However,
the comic books feature an array of superheroes, including
the original band of X-Men. Characters like The Beast,
Colossus, Morph, Jubilee, and many more unfortunately
do not show up on the screen along the lines of Storm,
Cyclops, Professor X, Mystique, Sabertooth, and Magneto.
There however was another character, Toad. First of all,
I have never heard of this guy. Please inform me the series
he came out of, although he was kind of cool.
Over all the film was good, and I guess the reason why
I am not giving it an A+ is because they didn't tell as
much of the "origin" information about over
mutants, especially Wolverine. That is an interest of
mine and by the looks of the finally of the film, the
sequel (if one does take carbon form) will be on Logan
discovering his past.
The viewers who have read the comic books and have the
exclusive Wolverine. marvel card set do know about his
World War II past and work as a secret agent and all.
The dog tag the film character wears around his neck and
Magneto's comparison of the numbers on it and on his arm
from a W.W.II concentration camp is another fat hint.
