Synopsis
Tom
Hanks and Helen Hunt star as a couple accidentally separated
for four years when Chuck (Hanks), a corporate strategist,
is stranded on a desert island by a plane crash. He must
adjust to a new life far from e-mail, fax machines, and
hectic schedules.
Review
What
else but greatest can you expect from an Oscar winner
who had to grow a beard and loose 55 lbs. for the production
of this epic of solitude.
During
the film, the audience witnesses how Chuck's state of
mind remains at the exact same point where it was when
his life got interrupted by the crash, while all of the
other people previously in his life move on with their
lives, searching for a better tomorrow. When he returns
to the civilized world, he sees the contrast between the
people he knew and the people that he faces now. This
creates a tough situation of Chuck to adjust to, forcing
the inevitable conclusion.
The
film was an awesome display of the skill of Tom Hanks
as an actor and Robert Zemeckis as a director. It is a
very tough job to take a man, put his on an island and
make a movie out of it. However, Zemeckis succeeded!
