BRING
IT ON
Synopsis
Kristen
Dunst stars as an ambitious cheerleader, who, elected
head of her squad, is determined that no one will stand
in her way as she leads the school to its sixth national
title. Their big competition this year is an inner city
hip-hop team, who threaten to out-pompom them.
Review
While
it might seem like simply another teen-pop movie to the
preview audience, "Bring It On" carries with
it a simple message of care, love, and equal competition.
When the newly elected head cheerleader, (Kristen Dunst)
is faced with the problem of being handed over the torch
of practicing a stolen dance routine, she tries everything
to make it to the finals for the cheer leading competition
the fair way. In the process she befriends her worst opponent,
showing that sometimes the person who you might the most
different from could also one who you are really close
to.
The film surely keeps the audience excited and leaping
for joy during any sort of victory from either side. A
personal relationship does tie in as a side story, creating
more of a comfortable atmosphere for the younger audience.
While not everyone might be a cheerleader in the viewers'
seat, everyone can relate to being victorious and trying
to succeed at something, from getting the promotion to
winning that pickup game of soccer.
