Synopsis
'The
Fast and the Furious' director Rob Cohen presents his
latest movie that stars Vin Diesel as Xander Cage, a tattooed
extreme-sports competitor who is recruited by a government
agent (Samuel L. Jackson) to work for the NSA (National
Security Agency) to infiltrate a Russian crime ring based
in Prague. The mission takes this "new breed of secret
agent" on a series of adventures all over the world.
Review
The
secret agent of the future has to be smart, fast, handsome
- and of course cool to the bone. Vin Diesel brings that
coolness to screen with fire and ice. With his fast thinking
and quick reflexes, he seems to be the perfect
guy for the job.
While generally entertaining and action-pumping, the film
does appear to play on a similar genre of Russian renegades
who employ the talents and knowledge of comrade scientists
for world domination. Some of the conversation that took
place by the Russian mobsters were stereotypical and humorous
to a point.
What
did keep the blood boiling in ones veins throughout the
film was the excellent soundtrack. Combining both European
rock, rap, and techno, the music kept viewers on the edge
of their seats.
The
conclusion to the film was not too surprising. However
it did leave a perfect lead-in for a sure-to-come sequel
to this fast riding, hard hitting summer blockbuster.
