Synopsis
A remake of the classic Rat Pack caper, the latest film
from Oscar-winning director Steven Soderbergh (Traffic)
boasts an all-star cast: George Clooney, Julia Roberts,
Matt Damon, Brad Pitt, and Don Cheadle, among others.
The movie follows a group of crooks, led by Danny Ocean
(Clooney), as they plan a major heist of a Vegas casino.
Review
When
choosing the ultimate basketball team, names such as Shaquille
O'Neal, Kobe Bryant, and Michael Jordan come up. When
choosing the ultimate movie cast, names such as George
Clooney, Brad Pitt, and Julia Roberts come up. "Ocean's
11" comes off as an all-star movie with an all-star cast.
Every character plays their role to the fullest, bringing
power and excitement to the screen. Clooney plays the
leader of an operation and plays the role with the charm
it deserves. Pitt adds to thje film with his role as the
right hand of Clooney's character. Others fall in appropriate
positions, with each persona filling unique shoes. However,
it seemed that the part played by Julia Roberts as the
ex-wife of Clooney and now the love interest of his foe
was not suited for her. The role needed a younger, less
seriously dramatic actress, yet Roberts pushed the role
for all it had to give.
The
plot shows deep thought and originality on the part of
the writters, who came up with more twists than ever seen
before. This film is a must-see and should be at the top
of every movie-goes list.
