BRIDGET
JONES' DIARY
Synopsis
Based
on Helen Fielding's bestselling novel, Renee Zellweger
stars as Bridget Jones, a single, thirtysomething British
woman who works in the publishing industry. Over the course
of a year she gains 74 pounds (and loses 72), smokes over
5,000 cigarettes, has an affair she might regret, and
does other things "normal people" do, including no shortage
of parties where married friends worry about her state
of "singleton."
Review
I
light-hearted comedy about some of life's most common
dilemma's and experiences is many times difficult to transfer
to the silver screen. However Sharon Maguire's approach
to the situation proved the problem to be not only with
a solution, but a good solution to boost.
By
putting a real woman in a real situation with real people
(or getting it as close as possbile) the audience was
able to come close to the character and realize her situation.
With the combinations of life factors such as office romances,
hate & love, separating parents, and health control,
the film has something for every type of a movie goer.
But just like the film makers thought of the film I will
think of the review: short and sweet.
