Review
"Double
Take" brings a two-sided story to the silver screen.
While the film is drop down funny when Orlando Jones and
Eddie Griffin are on screen, scenes not involving either
of the two actors bring about a boring and tiresome environment.
As
expected and unfortunate for the film, a large number
of the on-screen humor was displayed to the audience during
the trailer for the film, and when it came time for the
expected scenes in the film, the punch-line was expected.
The
film did surprise the audience
in certain ways. While originally creating a twisted plot
of double-crosses among a number of the federal bureau,
the plot supposedly untangled the questionabilities toward
the middle of the feature. However, as the film was drawing
to its climax and conclusion, previous confusion arose,
giving the picture an intriguing finally.
While
"Double Take" might not be the comic power-house
you expect it to be from the previews, it pulls its own
on the screen, mainly due to the artistic talents of the
leading men.
