Dogma

Dogma
Review Everyone is entitled to his or her own opinion
and this is a situation that proves the statement proper.
Although praised by many, "Dogma" was surprisingly strange.
Perhaps due to a lack of background knowledge about
Catholicism or just plain human instincts for spotting
weirdness, I just didn't see anything special about
the movie. The only appealing factor was some direct
humorous references to religion and Ebonics. Disregarding
the pointless plot of the film, the actor did a great
job with their characters. May be the most surprising
part of the entire movie was the antagonist roles of
Ben Afflek and Matt Damon, who played two gone-bad angels.
The idea about the picture that I got from hearing about
the film, from TV commercials, and previews was totally
different from what I really observed on the silver
screen. Dogma does not fit into the latest boom of religion
- related movie. Yes it has to do with God, but it also
has to do with bullshit. The film has unbelievable scenes,
and not with great graphics or monsters, but basic religious
facts like comedian Rock being the 13-th student of
Jesus. Anyway, see it if you wish, but judge for yourself.
