When
an aquarium cleaner, Deuce Bigalow, is asked by a professional
gigolo to housesit and look after his fish, the only
thing that could come out of it is comedy, which begins
to take shape and produces one of the funnies motion
pictures of the year.
During his housesitting, Deuce trashes the gigolo's
home and to raise the needed $6,000 for the repairs
he begins to answer the sexual requests of the "man
whore's" clients. However, as the plot unravels, Deuce
ends up making his clients feel better about their personal
problems and physical disorders. Yet soon he decides
to retire from the service due to the feelings, which
he developed for Kate, a one-legged former client.
The movie is a fun-filled comedic ride of non-stop laughter.
Starting from the aquarium-builder's phrases and concluding
with the "Matrix" parody scenes, your sides will develop
a permanent crack in them. Everyone does a great job
in this movie and the audience sure does notice it.
The jokes are well timed and well thought out. Deuce
Bigalow: Male Gigolo is a film that can be seen with
your friends, with your girlfriend/boyfriend, with yourself,
and even with your parents. Whoever you see it with,
you will enjoy it. It is a good way to end 1999 or begin
2000. The greatest feeling that the viewers get is the
idea that great movies can still be made without computer-generated
graphics and creatures.
What makes a great film is not what not the screen,
but what is read between the lines. And the idea of
a desperate man making others feel better about their
defects and showing care when no one else would is a
great show of pure human kindness.
