Review
As hundreds of pre-pubecent
girls flack to the theaters to see the latest Freddie
Prinze Jr. flick critics wonder how long the young mega
- star can keep up the interest of the audience with his
teen love romance movies. By the apparently loaded theaters
- for some time.
Unfortunately, some think that Freddie's peak came at
"She's All That", when he debuted as the lover
on the scene, but let's talk about what "Boys &
Girls" has in store for us.
While changing the style a bit from a "lovers"
film to start with, Ryan (Freddie) and Jennifer (Clare
Forlani) meet on a plane and run into each throughout
high school and later college. They become close friends
and as usually known, that leads to more, but as always,
there's a problem.
I don't know about how hard it might be to act, but I
think that after doing a number of these types of movies,
Freddie should have it down better than that. On the other
hand, his co-stars Clare Forlani and Jason Biggs kept
the audience from leaving the theater. Biggs, who plays
Hunter (Steve) Ryan's roommate and local "pimp"
constantly brings on the jokes, making this film a real
comedy. Forlani, who plays Ryan's love interest, depicts
the dramatic aspect of the film, balancing Biggs's goofiness.
One thing is left to ponder: How many more of these
films?
