The Holiday Season is full of movie releases. However among all of the big-budget and star-filled films one stands out as an Oscar contender - Bicentennial Man. The film stars Robin Williams as an evolving and humanoid android who lives through 200 years of a family's history. Although in a futuristic environment, the movie concentrates more about the meaning of life and humanity. The plot surrounds a robot made to be a "house-hold appliance" who begins to show unique and human-like behavior, which results for him to later gain a human-looking body and later even goes as far as designing working artificial organs to transplant to be human. Yet all of him efforts lead to Williams to still be considered as a robot. The movie once again proved to the audience Robin William's acting abilities. His facial expressions and grimaces add irreplaceable touches to the movie. The plot, although another book-turned-movie is magnificently shown by the director's creative view. Comedy and drama are greatly combined in the presentation and it is by far one of the best movies of the year and Williams might take a little gold man home this Oscar season. ~ Artem Kholodenko
